What's your Father's Day menu?

DH is planning to go out boating/skiing/wakeboarding with his DS. I just had surgery last Monday, so I will stay home. Therefore, nothing crazy here. I have a pot of bean soup on the stove right now, to which I'll add some sausage. I'm going to try to find a good recipe for a french-type loaf of bread that I can make in the breadmaker here in a few minutes.

What are ya'll having?

Nothing special here either. We're both down in the dumps after finding out that one of DH's co-workers (who he was very close to) passed away. She had broken her foot and apparently developed a blood clot which killed her at only 47 years old. So I'm just going to make some split pea soup and we'll have cheese/sausage/crackers with it.

Hope you're doing well after your surgery, Kim. And Linda, sorry to hear about your friend - 47 is too young. An acquaintance at work passed away similarly with a blood clot following a minor injury.

As for dinner, we had marinated London broil grilled along with squash and onions, rice pilaf, sugar snap peas, and a fresh fruit salad with peaches, blueberries, and kiwi. Dad was happy!

I made a feast on the grill...lobster, tbones, chicken and beef kebabs with roast potatoes, broccoli, green beans, cheesy biscuits and chocolate cake for dessert with Dreyer's Drumstick flavor ice cream, haven't tried that one before but it sounded good.

We had a breakfast of shiitake mushroom, bacon, green onion, and zucchini quiche with a salad and fruit bowl and for dinner we had teriyaki chicken breasts on the grill, asian salad, and snowpeas with a blueberry crisp with vanilla ice cream for dessert. All at DH's request, lol!

Thanks, CJ. I'm finally feeling better.

Linda, I'm sorry about your friend, too. That's horrible!
