I thought Staples rewards coupons were a good thing. Until I bought some school supplies with a small rewards coupon (one day before it expired), and then needed to exchange them a couple of weeks later. Because the original coupon expiration date was then already passed, I could not be reissued a rewards coupon, or not even a store credit, or not even exchanged for other items that same day. Only option offered was to exchange them FOR THE SAME ITEMS ??

I took my receipt and my not needed items back home with me.
Called corporate Staples when I got home, and was told the policy is to eliminate people extending their coupon expiration dates indefinitely.

I understand that; however, it was so clear that's not what I was doing; I just stupidly bought some school supplies before I knew for sure what I needed. The coupon was only $9. Ultimately, they could not do anything to help.
So, beware when using a Staples rewards coupon. Everything is basically FINAL SALE. (Unless you are sure to return before the expiration date of the original coupon you no longer have).
