I know they say they will ship the day the game is released, but I'm wondering if that's true ... I seem to remember preordering a movie and getting it the day is was released. My son really wants a video game and I think they have a decent price which beats dragging all my kids to the store on that day ..... anyone have experience with this?

I've pre-ordered books from them and they were shipped so they would arrive on the day of release or the next day.

I should add I would use the free supersaver shipping too ... didn't know if that made a difference.

I think a lot depends on the popularity of the item and how many people pre-ordered it.

We always try to pre-order months in advance, to ensure we will get the item out of the first batch received.

If you pre-order a week or day or so before the item is released, if it is a very popular item, chances are you will need to wait for another batch of the item to be received before it is shipped to you.

In my experience it use to be the case you would get preordered items by the release day or before but not lately. I have been beyond frustrated the last few items I have pre-ordered. One book I ordered did not even get shipped for almost a week after the release date. I did do free super saver shipping. I am not doing any more pre-orders if I want to get the item quickly.
The Twilight disk took more than a month.

ps most of these items I ordered months ahead.
