This is why I hate walmart !

Just got back from after Halloween shopping at WM. Everything was 50% off..ugh..here is my issues..

1. Asked a sales clerk if candy was included in the price..he ignored me ! Then huffed and puffed cause I was standing in his way. Another shopper heard my exchange and muttered loud enough for me to hear that she thinks he acts like he doesn't work here !

2. The black and neon foam pumpkins with a light bulb inside, reg. $6, rang up $4. I told the cashier they should be $3..since everything was 50% off. She remarked that the pumpkins probably were not included in that ..yet they were HALLOWEEN and in fact, a 50% off sign was RIGHT above the shelf they were on. The cashier did go to a manager and ask for a price over-ride..but SHEESH!

3. Cashier rang up a package of skittles twice. I did not see it until I got home. I only bought one package of skittles. Over-charged $2.50.

4. Reese's cups rang up full price even though they were in a Halloween display orange box, in the Halloween candy section. with 50% signs over them ! Grrr..again, did not see until I got home.

5. American greetings Halloween stickers came up 50% off, but the Halloween cards did not.

so now I have to go a second time and ask for my overcharges back..grrrrr!

Update..went back there this morning . Receipt in hand. Got $5 and some change back. The clerk did question me if the Reese cups were on sale..and I told her I'd show her right now that they are in the Halloween section, in an orange box..with a 50% off sign over it. I really hate how WM always overcharges me. I bought some mustard greens there the other week and was overcharged a $1 then as well.

And that is why I prefer to shop at Target where at least I can scan everything I'm buying You never can tell if stuff really is % off unless you check - it might not be but it should be. It might look like its not, but it is.... hard to say, so I always check.

I do like that Target has the scanners all over the store. In all honesty, I find that Target is as bad as Walmart when it comes to items ringing in wrong, but at least you can scan before hitting the register. Our walmart had scanners, but now they don't seem to have any that work!

I have a long list why I don't like shopping at walmart:
prices not available on about 50% of the items
where did they hide the scanner - one that works
trying to find an employee on the floor that speaks and understands english
have raised some prices so much it's much cheaper at the grocery store
some cashiers refuse internet coupons
items do not match price on shelves
carts not always available in store- you have to go and hunt for one outside
different walmarts have different prices for same item
etc
BUT the one thing I have to admit is that their bathrooms are clean......

walmart is definitely not what it used to be....the only and I mean only reason I was loyal to wm was that they had the lowest prices, period. Not anymore. They don't even *promise* to have the lowest prices! All they'll say now is "oh, if you find a better price we'll match". Well thank you so much! Now I have to do the work to find the cheapest price and still put up with their cluttered stores, totally lazy employees, long lines to checkout, incorrect scans, not being able to find what I'm looking for... the list goes on and on.

They are going to regret their whole new marketing plan, I guarantee it. Now that they are in every town they feel that they can be smug and stop offering the best deals (forget about service or quality, they never offered that) - oh well, we shall see how long they reign supreme with that attitude.

Oh, and the bathrooms at my local wal-marts are always so gross! Yuck!

Walmart has changed a lot over the years. When the were new they were on their toes, it looked like customer satisfaction was their sole motto but as time passed and they became popular, then the people at walmart stores came up with tauntrams. Even i no more like Walmart.

I *always* have scanner issues at my WM. Now I have to keep my eye on the scan window to make sure the danged items scanns right. For example, I bought 2 yams because and ONLY because they were in a cart for 25 cents a pound. I got them up to the reg. they came up 68 cents a lb.

They took the scanners out of my closest store. The never worked and I hope they are in the process of replacing them with ones that do.

They are required to post shelf prices so you can report them to the government agency in your area that enforces scanning laws. In NC, it is under the Dept of Agriculture - Weights and Measures.
