My vacuum JUST went out - completely lost suction and nothing is clogged in the tubes. I needed a new one but now it is just before Christmas and I worry I will get stuck with something on a VERY tight budget rather than what I would like. I didn't keep up with info on sales of vacuums, anything out there right now? I will probably need to pick it up in a retail store than to look for deals online, just no time to wait for the delivery before Christmas.

Also - how do you like Dyson? I have severe allergies and need HEPA filter but the bagless technology in Dyson worries me...

Love Love Love Dyson!!!! We bought the small rolling ball Dyson a few months ago and I can really tell a difference in my carpets. It is amazing what Dyson picks up that my other vacuum left. My husband has allergies and he had trouble with the vacuums with the bags because it keeps the dust in the bags, plus they had a smell to them. With the Dyson, you can empty it out every time. I usually take mine outside but if the weather is bad, I just empty it in our trashcan. With this Dyson, you can turn the brushes off and use it on hard floors too.

I highly recommend the Dyson. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
