| Thinking about investing in a GOOD bed for a change. I've seen these demonstrated on QVC before, & they look fabulous! They are the beds that have dual air chambers & you can pick your "sleep number" from 1-100(firm or soft). I like my side of the bed soft, my husband likes firm--seems like it would be perfect for us. Anyone own one of these? How has your experience been? Do they come with a foundation/box springs, or is that seperate? I'm looking at buying a king for around $1700....good price? TIA

You might want to do a little research on the models first. http://www.epinions.com/content_85746552452 http://www.epinions.com/content_96401133188

I have one for 1-2 yrs the same model they are complaining about in the above post, I have no problems with mine and so far happy with the purchase. My sister just bought the same one as myself and she likes hers so far. |

| wonderful bed
We've had our Select Comfort for 3 years and love it. Got it when I was @6 months pregnant. They should market these to pregnant women. As I grew & grew & grew, I could adjust the firmness for comfort. It was a life saver. DH back probs are no more. It doesn't look like much when you get it, but once you find your setting, it is great. HTH |

For those of you who can't afford this mattress there might be a less expensive alternative. Aerobed makes a mattress topper using the same concept. It is made for daily use, is air filled and has a dual control to adjust firmness. I saw it in the JCPenney catalog (I think the queen was something like $220). I hope this helps!

I bought a competitor model by Comfortaire. We love ours, have had it about a year. It's king, dual air, dual control. The only difference is that the model I have doesn't have the digital control number, you can get that but it's $400 more. I paid just over $900 for king size, did a LOT of shopping around and calling around for prices, which varied widely. I ultimately ended up going with a site that price matched and offered a 90 day money back guarantee. We've had no problems and have been very happy. Just found the site. it is natioinwidemattress.com -- this is the actual model I purchased: http://www.nationwidemattress.com/netcerulean.htm I think you'll find it pretty comparable to one of the Select Comfort models. This is the next model up http://www.nationwidemattress.com/netcerulean.htm It arrived in 2 boxes and was easy to assemble. We had it together filled and the bed made in about an hour. We had a platform bed so we have no box spring.

| I Second the Comfortaire Beds
Comfortaire beds are virtually identical to Select Comfort. Select Comfort actually was founded by someone who was at Comfortaire. Last I knew they were litigating over the fact that Select Comfort was making the same thing as Comfortaire. We have had our Comfortaire bed for about 4 years now. It is wonderful. My parents have the Select Comfort and wish they would've known about Comfortaire before spending too much for their Select Comfort bed. I believe J.C. Penny now sells Comfortaire beds. You can also by them from my distributors on the web.

| UPDATE: Thanks for all your inputs. After 2 days of internet searching, I'm leaning towards the Comfortaire's Celenia, instead of the Select comfort model. A couple features of the Comfortaire really stood out for me. Epinions has helped too. A couple reviews has said that Comfortaire does not have the divider in the middle, that most people say you can definately feel, in the Select Comfort model. Another feature is the Visco memory foam, included with the Celenia. Also, the TOP Comfortaire model is $250-$350 cheaper than the middle Select Comfort model. One point that is discouraging me is the fact that Comfortaire doesn't come with a foundation. I'm looking at a KING size bed , but we only have a Queen right now, so we would have to buy a new foundation elsewhere, more money. How much are foundations, anyway? More input would be welcome. Please share your "airbed" experiences. I'll prolly be searching & comparing for about a month.

| new mattress
Please let us know how your purchased went; I, also am interested in the same bed as you and king size. We have a store in Delaware where you can actually try the comfortaire bed in the store; I am going in a few weeks to check it out. I have already tried the Select Comfort but like you found the price a little steep. If you do purchase a Comfortaire please share your results I would be very interested. Thanks
