are they actually made by dell, or are they made by some other manufacturer that puts a dell "label" on them?

im looking at the all-in-one printers

do you have to buy ink through dell - is it more expensive that way? can you refill the ink cartidges yourself?

I don't have a printer, but I have heard the ink is EXPENSIVE...which leads me to believe you may have to buy it direct from Dell? Maybe someone else knows for sure...

They're Lexmark printers, sold under the Dell brand.

Actually Dell has set these Lexmarks so they only use Dell branded ink. That way, they've got you hooked.

Canon factory ink is so cheap you need not look for aftermarket. We have two Canons and they're great.

Lexmarks are ink hogs.

The person who stated Dell sells their own ink is correct. you cannot get ink cartridges except through Dell, glad I knew that before I bought Dell!

Mine is a Epson5400 or is it 5401? Can't remember but anyways we bought it in Dec. and aren't even half way through the ink cartridges yet.

Oh btw, I got this info. from our Corporate Express Rep. who comes in our office.
