Revlon used to make a blemish tool. It sort of looked like a tiny spoon with a hole in it that you placed over the blemish & pushed to "pop" it. I don't know if they still make them and never found that it worked extremely well (although if you are a squeezer it's better than using your fingernails & causing a scar) but they used to be with the tweezers & nail clippers at the store.

Growing up, I used my fingers all the time and do not have scars. Not one. I've seen this thing somewhere along the line and wondered why anyone would pay for something they could do themselves. jmo

Funny that you say this. My daughter, now 18, has always had flawless skin. Everyday, for as long as I can remember, she sits in front of her magnified mirror on a daily basis and she will squeeze, scrape and pop (with her fingers) anything she sees starting to develop. I would always tell her not to do that, it will spread the bacteria, it will make scars, etc. I will show her all the articles I come across in magazines agreeing with this, but to no avail. I gave up long ago as she would just continue to do this anyway. She has no scars and her skin is absolutely flawless. She's constantly being complimented on her skin and told how lucky she is. Of course they don't know how many hours have been put into it!

I have one like that and use it almost daily:

With that I can remove whiteheads and blackheads that I couldn't remove just by squeezing with my fingers.

Re: Is there a whitehead removal tool?

discoved this purely by accident one day. My teen daughter tends to get blackheads in her ears..very hard of course to get at and also by the side of her nose..another hard to reach area. I took an old ..but clean..small syringe that we have on hand for our handicapped daughter (no needle in it..just the syringe). I pressed it on top of the zit and pulled back the plunger...Voila!!..instant zit remover! Quick, easy and painless! :-)

Now that is ingenious! I *used* to pop my blemishes but now I am strict no-touch-your-facekinda-gal because I am obsessed with not having craters on my face at age 31. I still have teenage skin so I can develop pimples on the brush of my skin so I have to cleanse daily and just stop my bad habits of always touching my face an/or picking. My face has gone from red and trying to find white flesh to beautiful oh my goodness I can't believe I can have beautiful skin! That and my cleanser: L'Oreal Pure Zone that i got as a freebie way back when (what an awesome product for my type of skin: combination oily & dry). This is one of thsoe rare times that I would NOT have tried this product unless they sent me a freebie - now I stockpile it and use it religiously everyday in the shower. Anyways I digress - that is an awesome idea re: syringe.

Re: Is there a whitehead removal tool?

It's okay to use clean fingers to remove whiteheads, per my medical aesthetician. It's pimples that you must leave alone or get scars. She even recommended I use my clean fingers to squeeze out whiteheads so they don't become pimples.

The tool she used on my face as some folks have described was to remove blackheads, not whiteheads.
