I need to buy a truck/car for a 5yo boy (as part of a church project). I have 2 girls, and have no idea what would make a good gift. I want it to be something nice, but can only spend about $10-$20. I originally found something at Marshalls called Hot Wheels Formula Fuelers, but I'm not sure that's such a good idea -- I read mixed reviews on Amazon. I don't want it to be a big disappointment.

I'm thinking of something called Shake 'N Go Off-Road vehicles, but I see the age range listed as 3-5 -- would a 5yo enjoy these? TIA!

My son is 5, turning 6 in February. He LOVES Hess Trucks. I know that they are supposed to be collector's items...well, not in our house. He adores them. This year's has a helicopter on it. He has the last three years worth, adores them all. They light up, very cool.

He loves his Hot Wheels and Nascar cars too. I have seen the Shake N' Go's we don't have any. They seem more geared toward preschoolers.

and would probably be happiest with a big pack of Hot Wheels cars. Any vehicles from the movie "Cars" would be appreciated too. My son did ask for the "Shake and Go" but he's not getting one. For$20 you might be able to find something with a remote control.. my son is huge into that too. Good luck!

Thanks, everyone. I ended up with a CAT Dump Truck from Target. It also is remote controlled. This way, I was also able to include the gift receipt so the family can choose to exchange it if they need to.
