yankee candle no scent ?

Is it true that if you buy a yankee candle and either do not like the scent or has no real scent , that you can return it to a store and trade it in ? what is the rule..? I bought a scent " amber sunset" and I swear I had it burning for a good hour and I never did smell a thing !

Yes that is the way it has always been unless they changed it recently. I have exchanged before when I just could not tolerate a scent.

From the Yankee candle website:
Our Guarantee
We value your patronage and are truly committed to your satisfaction. If any purchase from The Yankee Candle Company, Inc. fails to meet expectations please return it to any one of our many locations or send it to us at P.O Box 110, South Deerfield MA 01373 for an exchange or a full refund.

I had an Amber Sunset Yankee Candle a couple of months ago and it was very fragrant (loved it). You definitely should be smelling it after letting it burn for an hour. I would see if they would let you exchange it. Those candles are expensive and they should stand behind their products.

Give the store a call, let them know about the lack of scent. If the store has good business sense & great customer service, they will refund or allow you to exchange. Good luck & let us know the end result!

I've never been able to get much scent from candles, but chopping off a bit and putting it in a tart burner works, and lasts forever. You might consider that if you otherwise like the fragrance.

Yankee Candle was sold to someone else a while ago and their candles have never been the same. It's a shame really.
