Which Tread Count??

Looking to buy some king size sheets. They cost SO much I'm sure the set will have to last...
Is the higher thread count the one you want? I don't want the cheapies that never get soft...know what I mean?
TIA!

I thought you were talking tires ! lol.

Spend the $ and get a higher count. I am thoroughly enjoying 300 count right now, found on clearance at TJ maxx for $16, queen size, I think the regular price was something like $46 or $56.......

These won't "pill" up either....where you have the little bumps all over after repeated washes and longer use. I am cheap, but won't buy less than 300 again!

We have 500's and they are great and so worth it. So soft and stay cool, whcih is great for sleep. The kids have 400's...My sister has 800's and they are like satin!

Yes, you definitely want a higher thread count...dont skimp on your sheets.

FYI, while higher thread count sheets are much softer, the higher the thread count, the more delicate they are. I spent quite a bit of money on a nice set of Royal Velvet 400 TC sheets several years ago. While they didn't pill, they developed tiny holes all over the place and they eventually just ripped. I really babied those sheets too. Since they were king size, I washed the fitted sheet and the flat sheet in separate loads, both on the delicate cycle. Those sheets only lasted 5 years at the most (I have some 200 TC sheets that I have had for about 15 years).

My mom bought DH and I a set of 600 TC sheets for Christmas on Overstock.com a couple of years ago (don't remember the brand) and they pilled up all over the place and feel almost like sand paper when you sleep on them now.

I would recommend sticking with 250-300 TC sheets because they will probably last longer and they get softer as you wash them.
