Question Free Way To File Taxes????

Hi all. We are short on funds this year and heard that there was a site thru the IRS where you could file your tAXES FOR FREE. hAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS ? wE ARE TRYING TO DO MY DAUGHTERS BUT EVERY SITE WE GO TO COST. cAN ANYONE HELP? tHANK YOU IN ADVANCE! dONNA

You can fill out the paper forms and mail them in....that just costs the stamp. I'm not aware of any free sites.

I did my sons and MIL on the HR Block site, start with the irs website and follow the links, the one thing you need to be careful of is most of them charge for doing the state form. Just don't do the state form, in Ohio the state has a free e fileing program on their website.

If you put in your bank info as long as you file by, I believe, Thursday at noon you will have the money deposited the next Friday (week later) in your account

I've used taxslayer.com but you need to get there from the IRS website, then click on free file. If you qualify to do your federal free, then you get state for free too.
