what credit card do you use? I need better rewards.

I used to get 5% back on groceries and gas (most of my purchases) plus 1% on others, but a few months ago , my mastercard co. cut back to 1-2 % on all purchases. So instead of getting a reward every 2-3 months, it now takes about 6 months to get a reward. PLMK what you use for rewards.

Thanks,
Michelle

I have a newer Cit-card AMEX which I got a $100 for signing up/first purchase. I get 5% on grocery, gas and drugstore- but I don't really like it. You get about 10 days to pay the bill. The weekend before last I had alot of errands to run. I spent about $100 at Kohl's , $40 on gas, $18 at Cosco, $12 at Payless shoes. Nothing really alarming or abnormal. When I went to make my next purchase- they shut me down- my purchase was declined. They shut me off due to fraud concerns. When I called to clear it up, they informed me that my payment due in two days had not been received yet, even thoughI had mailed it 1 week before. So the due date comes and I go ahead and pay it electronically, thinking my check was lost in mail. Then two days later I look online and my original payment is showing up as having been posted 5 days before the due date. So I paid twice. Not very dependable or reliable.

Citibank is a piece of dookie.

My Shell account was taken over by Citi. Takes the losers 5 days to post an electronic payment. They really want to get you to pay interest.

My credit union has a Visa with no rewards but great terms and friendly service. When RBC Centura cut cash rewards from 1% to 1/2%, they were no longer worth the trouble.

Check reward card terms for gotchas like annual fees or short payment periods. One late payment fee wipes out rewards from $1,000's of purchases.

Beware of banks offering gifts.

I also would like to find another rewards card.

In looking over the list, The Chase Freedom Card looks like the best for me.

The advertising blurb states 3% back on Grocery, Gas and Fast Food and 1% on all others

But when I read the small print, it states 2% back on those purchases. If it's only 2%, I would say that is false advertising. I sent them an e-mail.

So, BUYER BEWARE

CORRECTION: It is 3% Cash Back on those items - it states in addition to the 1% cash back, you will get 2% etc., etc., etc.

I've been using the MyPoints Rewards credit card for a few years now. I use it on all my big purchases and all my online purchases. You get 1 pt per $$$ spent. I'm sure you can go to the MyPoints website to get more info (I tried to lilnk it here, but for some reason it doesn't work). Sorry that I don't have more specifics for you. I can also add that I've had NO problem with their receiving my payments, posting them, etc. I've been a happy customer for about 4years. OH...and they even waived a late fee a few times when I asked them to (even though it was MY fault I missed the payment date).

I hope this helps some!
