Want to buy foods sold in restaurants.possible?Looking for Fried Veggie Sticks.

Ok...here's the problem. I have been searching forever it seems for a food I LOVED in high school. Healthy? Probably not? But, am not concerned with that. lol.

Particularly, I'm looking for a food that seems to be a staple on school lunch menus called "Veggie Sticks". They are corn, green beans and carrots all inside a little fried piece of heaven! I would trade a boatload of Twinkies on any given day for these! lol.

I found them here: School Choice - Products - Sysco Corporation , but being a "restaurant distributer" they don't sell to the public.

I also am interested in some other things. Another main one is Honey Mustard found in most restaurants. I have tried EVERY brand in the grocery store and have attempted TONS of recipes and nothing comes even remotely close to what you get in a lot of the restaurants. The ones I find in the store are a dark orange color with a spicy taste and never taste close to the restaurant. The restaurant Honey Mustard is usually a bright yellow and sweet.

Anyone have any ideas? It might be a long shot...but couldn't hurt to ask!

Thanks,
Belinda

Look in your phone book for restaurant suppliers. We have a few here that are open to the public.

Regarding the honey mustard....have you tried making your own? Just mix honey with your mustard until you get the flavor you like.

Here at least, you can buy a jar of what's labeled as O'Charley's Honey Mustard, never bought it so I don't know if it's like the restaurant....

If you can't find a place that sells to the public, maybe there is a food co-op that can get it?

Belinda this honey mustard is the BEST. seriously, I try to not make it too often b/c I'll start looking for things to eat w/ it. and I'm NOT a honey mustard fan.

Can you contact your school and have them order it for you. Or find a local food establishment that buys from Sysco and see if they would order it for you. You'd be suprised how many of them will get things from supliers for you....especially if it's something they don't normally carry. That way they're not cutting themselves out of a sale.
