both dh and I have XE Mobile (you can buy the cards at retail stores nationwide like FYE, etc...or you can buy refill cards on their website.)

We love it... we took them to NYC with us last year and never once lost signal--not even in PA!

We got our daughter a Tracphone. I am not as impressed with it as I am with XE mobile, but it will work for her.

I have a tracfone as well, every year I buy the one year card, usually 250 units, but there always a bonus going on so they get about 450, plus one years service for about 115.00 for the year. plenty for me, my daughter pays that much per month, crazy kids!

I Have a tracphone & love it so far I havent spent much on it, its really been great for me

net 10 is owned by tracfon and its only 10 cents a min and on their website you buy the phone and get 300 free min got one of these for my grand daughter

I got one of the Net10 for my 11 year old too. You can buy the phone and 300 minute card that goes with for about $40 at Walmart. Good everywhere, no roaming charges, .10 a minute, .10 per text message. You do have to renew every 30 or 60 days at the cost of $15 for 30 days or $30 for 60 days to keep the phone turned on. You can let it expire whenever you want. I liked it because there is no contract attached to it, we already have 3 phones on our contract with Cingular and I didn't want to add another, so we went this route.

oh, some of the Dollar General stores are going out of business and their electronics at 30% off right now and just noticed today that they sold them there!! GL

Don't overlook Virgin Mobile if they cover your area.

Have had them for over 3 years with great customer service. Quite a few complaints about Tracfone CS.

I have to agree with you - I used to have Cingular - but they stunk big time!!!! Now I have Virgin Mobile and love it - and even better I can top off my phone with paypal which makes it so easy to do!!! And you can earn free minutes with their Sugar Mama Program - not much but hey a free minute is a free minute!!!

Another vote for Virgin Mobile. We've been with them almost five years and are completely satisfied with service and coverage.

Both my kids have a tracfone. We have never had a problem and you can't beat $99 a year with coupon codes. I got 600 mins for $99

but with net 10 who is owned by tracfon you can get 600 min for $60.00 quite bit dif compared to 99

But Net 10 600 mins. is for 120 days of service. Tracfone 600 mins is for 365 days of service. i don't have to keep buying mins to keep current only once a year with the year plans.

Net10 has recently started letting the days of service rollover just like Tracfone. So, if you refill your minutes before your time is up, the new length of service is just added on to your current expiration date.

I haven't been all that impressed with their customer service but my problems were not enough to get me to change since you really cannot beat this deal!!

bought my daughter a tracphone at walmart...she wanted a flip phone and they were 18.95 this was the same phone I priced out at 49.95 in sams club....went on line and got some codes through a thread here at MC and got 320 minutes and 5 months for 39.99...I will do the year deal if she does not loose or get the phone stolen by Oct....phone works well... has a nice color screen that clearly tells you the time and minutes you have left... and came with a charger...thats all she wanted...so far a good deal for me.
