Ok, so I was thinking of getting the family a Wii. My kids that would play would be 18 and 16. We have XBox and PS2, but DD said Wii will be soo fun. So just in case I bite the bullet.

What should I buy accessory wise if I just buy the console? Is that hand remote thing in the console pack the controller? Or does everything come separate? And what about any game recommendations...Thanks everyone!

Buy at least one extra controller.
The favorite game in our house is the Wario one. We all play it including me and my husband, we are 40, our 19 year old daughter and our younger kids from 9-4.

Most of the other games played here are classic ones we downloaded.

We used to play the Sports one a lot, it comes with the Wii, but haven't lately.

Also Wii Play is fun and comes with a controller.

The Wii system comes with one controller (remote) and one nunchuck. I would buy an extra controller and maybe an extra nunchuck for everyone that would be playing the Wii. Our favorite game right now is Sonic and the Secret Rings.

Yes, definately get an extra controller.....you can get a controller with the game Wii play......

We also have a wireless sensor bar, which is nice so when the little ones play we can lower it, and we the "big" kids play we can put it up higher without worrying about the wire.....We also have a the rechargable batteries in the remotes.....I think they one we have is made by Nyko.....we love it, it's nice not to have to worry about dead batteries.....
