Question about American Girl dolls

After 2 years of being on her list, Santa finally brought DD an American Girl doll for Christmas. I would like to get her some additional outfits, but cringe at paying the prices. I just saw that My Twinn is having a sale...does anyone know if the clothes will fit the AG dolls?

Sorry..

but the MT dolls are about 4" bigger. I know some people have purchased short sleeved shirts that seem to work in a pinch, but generally not. MT dolls take newborn baby sized clothing. Have you looked at Target? I know they sell an 18" doll that the clothes will work. Also, I have gotten some great deals on beautiful clothes from seamstresses on ebay for our MTs.. I assume there is even more for AG.

Michael's also sells clothes for the 18" dolls. Not as cute as AG but with a 40% off coupon it makes them reasonable.

A lot of craft fairs also have people making clothes for AG dolls that are cute and reasonably priced.

We go to craft fairs for our girls' AG doll clothes. We've also had great luck with eBay - lots and LOTS of options there! Do a search for American Girl clothes. You pay a lot more $$ for the actual brand - we've gotten nice things that are one of a kind at craft fairs. Good luck!

Sign up for the mailing list

Although this will not be of immediate help, make sure you sign up for their e-mail list. You get discount offers & sale notices that way. Every little bit helps.

Too bad you didn't live in IL or WI. Every year in July, AG has a sale at the Madison Children's Museum. "SANTA" bought all my dd's AG stuff there at 50% off this year. For example, I got the crib for $20 instead of $40. Awesome sale, it was my first time last year, will def. do it again this year.

Also too, TARGET sells their brand called " Our Generation," all the clothes, bed, scooter, horse, table w/ chairs, etc. all fit AG dolls. My MIL bought my dd the horse for Xmas and Samantha (AG doll) fits on it just fine. I know the outfits at Target are $9.99, so that's pretty reasonable.

Also try Craigslist and do a search in your area. I bought many AG things off of people too. Ebay is another one too, but the bidding can get ridiculous.

And I also wait for AG to do their sales, like OP posted above.

Speaking of....any one have a free shipping code?

My mother-in-law makes beautiful AG clothes and sells them at craft fairs. Many are better than anything American Girl sells. I also have gotten them at the outlet in WI but have never made the big sale there.

My Twinn doesn't fit though.
