| Which to choose? Altima, Camry or Accord
We now have 3 Toyotas in the family (1994 Camry, 2000 Camry & 2003 Corolla), but I heard that they are not as good as they used to be. We are leaning towards an Accord but would love to hear anyone's opinions on the 2008 models. Also if anyone just bought any of these models, what price did you pay. I have been going through the internet department and I thought you don't pay dealer fees that way, but they either include it in the price of the car or tell you the fee and either way the out the door price comes out close.

I have a new Camry and I love it. I haven't heard anything about the quality coming down. I haven't had any problems at all. I have a Hybrid, so the price won't be comparable, but loaded I paid 24,700. I got a great deal and the gas mileage is fabulous. I'm getting 36 mpg and at the current prices that's a good thing. Good luck with whichever you choose. Renee |

My husband and I have been looking to buy a new car before our second child was born, 1 yr ago, we did a lot of looking and test driving in that year. We are a Honda family and we tend to stick with what we like, We almost bought, a 2008 camary we loved almost everything about it, Then someone suggested to get on consumer reports regarding cars, We did and ended up buying a 2008 honda pilot. We love it, few exceptions, but they have been fixed. We own a 89 Honda crx, 2000 honda accord and a 1995 honda civic. We really like the reliability.

Camry had issues with the all wheel drive version - still a solid car. Just bought an 08 Corolla before the new 09 came out in 2/08. Major improvement from the 03 I traded. The bugs are out and a lot of good revisions. The Camry's a good buy. If you can find a new 08 Corolla, give it a look, Avoid 09 Corolla because of new model intro bugs you find in all first year of redesign models. Get this year's Consumer Reports auto issue at your library - lots of great info. Toyota sales were down, so they should be dealing. |

Wow, I own a Toyota corolla and have for years and years loved their reliability. But, these days with our own country's economy I find I must "buy American". Will look for the most reliable and safe model and support our own country's economy. I know foreign cars are assembled here, however parts and design are from overseas.

My Corolla was built in Fremont, CA by UAW workers at the combined GM/Toyota plant. Many parts are U.S.A. sourced. Almost all Corollas come from Fremont, and the serial numbers start with 1N. I buy American too, and picked Corolla for that reason. Used to buy Saturns but the new Astra is made in Belgium by a GM subsidiary. How American is that? |

I have owned two Toyotas - a Corolla and an MR2. I now own a Honda Civic. Having owned both, I will go back to Toyota for my next car. I think both are very reliable but feel the Toyotas give you a better ride, feel more solid, and give you a little more for your money. As mentioned above, probably can't go wrong with any of them - just personal preference. |
