Opinions on Kodak printers?

We are thinking of purchasing one of those Kodak printers that has the cheap ink refills and I was wondering if anybody had an feedback on them, good or bad. We were going to get the one that is on sale at Circuit City this week for $99.99 but when we went yesterday the staff was less than helpful. The first guy we talked with didn't know anything and the second guy that the first guy brought over didn't seem to know anything either except for saying "I have found Kodak printers hard to use." I was just thinking yeah, you just want to talk me into one of these $300 models that are sitting next to it. Anyway, and reviews you may have would be helpful. Thank you!

It's not a brand I've used for printers, but we're (almost) on our third Kodak digital camera. The brand does have a tendency to nickel and dime you (You didn't know it didn't come with a charger? That'll be $50), but overall quality is good. Make sure you check everything that comes in the package. You'll probably need to buy a USB cord for it separately, but I know I posted about that already. It would really suggest checking a site like newegg.com or zipzoomfly.com rather than buying in store, since both sites have reviews and lots of technical information, and the former wanted $80 less for the camera DH wanted, even with shipping, than Best Buy. Consider a Canon Pixma, too, since those were cheap, well rated, and what I probably would have chosen if it didn't need to be networked. Skip HP, they're a PITA.

I had the 5500 for about a month. I loved the duplex printing and the options to print booklets (kid's school projects). I ran into a big problem when I attempted to print labels. I only print about 5 each month and reuse the sheet. After it pulled the sheet in, the stickers pulled off the sheet and wrapped around the inside of the machine. I tried to pull them all out, but some just weren't accessible. I'm not sure what caused this problem, but I really did like the machine up until then.
