I found an MP3 player on walmart.com and when I went to our local Walmart, they said that they do not pricematch to walmart.com because they (walmart.com) are not a competitor? I needed it immediately and so paid the extra $9 but I was surprised. Is this a company policy?

Although I dispise WM, it's not just a WM thing. Target will not pricematch their .com (again, because it's not a competitor) and Toys R Us won't price match TRU.

Can you order it on-line then pick it up at the store? You could do that and return the more expensive version.

Not at my store U can't.. What you paid on line is what you will get back. I got the kids uniforms from .com and they didn't fit, took back to my local wal-mart and ONLY got back what I had paid as they scan the order number and that had the order with price on it..needless to say I paid 5.00 MORE for the very same shirts and 7.00 MORE for the very same pants I had gotten from the .com in the store.
It might be different at other wal-marts but not here, what you pay on line is what you will get back.

P.s they will not PM their .com Nor their other wal-mart B&M stores either.

I find that dot com is almost always cheaper on electronic items than my local store. I have been just buying it online then having it shipped to the store for pickup. The store is less than 5 miles from where I live so it works out well.

Staples does match their .com if anyone needs anything there. I just called today on a phone and they said sure.
