Question Lowest priced chew between IL & MA?

I want to pick up some chewing tobacco for some troops deployed to AF/IQ - Massachusetts is not the best place to do that. ***** is about $7 a tin here!

I'll be driving from IL to MA in a week or so. For those who living in IL, IN, OH, NY - what are your tobacco prices (i.e. where are tobacco taxes the cheapest?)?

TIA,
cj/

PS - This is not a thread about the pros/cons of tobacco or whether it's right/wrong to support someone's habit. (Please)

Saw the title and you as the OP and couldn't figure out WTF you were wanting w/ chewing tobacco!

I can't help ya' on the price though!
And really, while your in the middle of a war is probably not the best time to try and break this kind of habit!

Have you mailed tobacco before? It's been over a year since I mailed anything to Iraq, and I can't remember if that's on the "approved" list or not. Wouldn't want the government to come after you for just trying to be helpful!!!

Yeah, you likely pegged me correctly as very much anti-smoker/chewer. However, I am a woman with heart and compassion to try to help a few people out who are living without what they consider to be a basic need.

I can't remember off the top of my head if it's on the "approved" list or not, but we sent some to Dh's brother who is now in Afghanistan. I refused to send it to DH, it wasn't a problem though since he could buy at the PX. I can't stand smoking or chewing, but a combat situation is not the time to be breaking a habit like this.....they are already surrounded by 24/7 stress.

I'll have to ask DH if he's bought any since we moved..(we're in IN).

You might want to check out any Indian gaming properties (casinos, dog tracks, racinos). They are usually on reservations and several in the west run smoke shops and because they don't pay the same taxes on tobacco that the rest of the nation does so can usually beat the competion. Just a thought.

CJ- I know there's an Indian reservation on Route 90 in NY (between the PA state line and Niagara Falls) that has a huge billboard about being tax free and cheap tobacco that we see coming back from our skiing trips. Like Cashchick, I think your best bet is an Indian reservation.
