OMG! Target- Halloween clearance

Every year the day after Halloween since I have shopped there (more than a decade) they have clearanced all Halloween 50% off!

This year, the candy is only 30% off while the decorations are 50%.... What in the world is going on with them? You wouldn't believe all of the unhappy customers at the registers this morning!!

Our Target candy is only 30% off too. I did buy all the Hershey almond bars because that was the only place in town that even carried them. There have been times in the past when Target has only gone 30% their candy. I wonder when they will mark it down further. I don't need anymore because I hit Walmarts 50% off and got tons there.

Our Targets here had the candy at 30% off. First time since our Target opened a few years ago. The decorations were 50% and also the candy corn. Big disappointment.

Two of ours were the same way, candy 30%, everything else 50%. Annoying, but I only need candy for the Veteran's Day parade. Should the costumes go 75 off soon? Kids love to play dress up.

I just got back from Target where I was pretty disappointed, LOL. Candy was only 30% but I did spend $4.49 on a big plastic dispenser(looks like a goldfish bowl) of Snickers. We do Xmas gifts $5 and under for family and that takes care of Brother.....There were no adult costumes which is what I was looking for and not much else left for that matter. I also hit CVS where it was even worse(only candy corn and some makeup left).

I hope the 30% off candy isn't a trend (xmas). Went to Walmart for the 50% off.

Sounds like we need some insider information, any target employees out there still? I did notice on the signs that it said the discount of 30% off candy and 50% off decorations and costumes valid until 11/9/09 or maybe the 7th but i know it was one of the 2-- total bummer!! But I did notice the glade deal they have again- buy 5 get a $5 gift card---use coupons...makes it very cheap!

That's strange. I'm in Illinois and yesterday I stopped by a local Target where everything was 50% off.

Today, I went back to a different Target and everything was 75%! I got tons of candy for holiday baking and toys/candies to use for birthday goodie bags in a couple of months. I got a fleece blanket to use as part of of our car stash for watching soccer/baseball games and some paper goods and stickers. There were tons of costumes and lots of decor, tableware, and clothing still left. I was surprised that it was already 75%.

I was hoping to have found more cake mixes, cupcake liners and snacks (like Oreos) but those were nowhere to be found.

Hopefully everyone else's Targets will start reducing but ours seem to be in a big hurry to get that Christmas stuff out!

Evansville, In was at 30%(candy) and 50% on decorations/costumes as of yesterday. I might stop by there again today since we have to go up to Newburgh later on.

Went to two in Ft Myers, FL yesterday and candy was 50% off while everything else had gone down to 75%. Saved $250! Returned some stuff I'd gotten at 50% off too.

It was 75% off in Bangor, Maine. Found lots of halloween/fall candy mixed in with the regular candy. Most of the candy left in the sale section was the stuff no one wants. I am surprised more people don't think to look in the candy section. It was hard to spot, because most of it didn't look like halloween, but instead had brown and gold leaves on the edges of the bags! I also got a few shirts. Not sure when 90% will be, but they still had a huge amount of decorations/costumes/clothing left!

Candy signs said 50% off but scanned at 75% off. The manager was walking by so I told him they should change the signs and they did. Then the people started coming.....lol

I have to say that this is the first time I have ever checked a Target this late. I didn't realize that they did go down to 75% on Wednesday. Today, my Target had still an aisle of merchandise, almost no candy though (don't need it anyway), but found one lonely Linder's.

I did see in the regular candy aisle fun size peanut butter M & M's are scanning 75% off(do not look halloween) There was an aisle bin full of them, so no one realizes it yet. Didn't buy any, but might at 90% it it is still there.

90% off everything in Central Massachusetts (3 stores visited). Not as much hidden candy in the regular aisles as previous years, but struck it big in Westboro with 11 bags of PB M&Ms fun size for $3.19 total.

90% off in IL too...well at least the 3 I visited. Got some more skeleanimal stuff - 1.49 for big plush, skeleanimal t-shirt for .99, also got a bunch of Disney Toy Story, Cars, Princess, Transformers - tattoos, crayons, erasers, pencils for dd 1st grade class next year to throw in treat bags .29 each. Skeleanimal candy .09, .19 (for the big lollipop), .49 (skeleanimal pouch with candy bones), Skeleanimals winter hats got 2 different ones .79!!

BTW, the "Halloween" Skeleanimal plush in the orange box is the same exact plush that's in the toy isle in a black box for $14.99! Same exact plush just different boxes and a 90% off difference.

My dd should be skeleanimaled out after Xmas...lol. Anyone see the new Xmas skeleanimals? They are too cute...in the stocking stuffer isle with the xmas stuff.

Online coupons = FREE candy

If you check the Target site online, they have printable $1 off 2 bags of candy coupons for some of the candy that is on sale for 90% off. I found tons of candy at our local stores in CA and was able to use some of the coupons. It makes the bags of candy free!

I was able to find:

$0.29 (free with coupon) M & M Plain and Peanut (in small bags)
$0.69 (free with coupon) Skittles and Starburst (mixed bag of 90?)
$0.29 Mint Muskateers, Milky Way, Reeses Cups, Hershey Kisses Candy Corn, Kit Kats, Butterfingers (some rang up full price) mostly in Fun Size
$0.29 Snickers Fun Size (Halloween Decor. on bag)
$0.19 Pez dispenser with 6 candy rolls
$0.49 Wash Mitt
$1.49 Shower curtains (black with white skeletons and curtain rings)
Hallowensky Toys
Various Costumes and clothing items (shirts, leggings, socks, etc.)
+ some other various items

I didn't try to use more than 1 of each coupon per purchase. The coupon states 1 for each item per transaction.

Hope you are able to find some neat things too!

At the Bethel, Connecticut store tonight there were at least a dozen boxes of 20ct Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix Dark Chocolate & Nut Granola Bars ringing at 90% off or 39 cents each. There are a few subtle autumn leaves on the top of the box and they say “New! Snack Size!” in a brown circle on the front. In Bethel they were on the lowest shelf of an endcap between the food and holiday aisles, but I have also seen them in the regular granola bar aisle at another store. Hope someone can find them before they ring INF in a day or two.

We went to 5 Targets yesterday. All were 90% off except for candy which was 75%. We found bags of fun size peanut M&M's mixed with regular M&M's. My daughter got a couple costumes. We got some cupcake and cookie mixes. We also got a lot of other miscellaneous things so it was a worthwhile trip.

DGant-
Thanks for the tip on the Nature Valley granola bars(great for lunches). Will have to check it out.
I attempted to look for fall decor......wreaths, candles, anything, but came up empty-handed. In past years, I have been able to get some candles or a fall wreath. Not this year.

Has anyone else found anything in the fall decor category?

Thanks so much for posting that. I was able to find one box at the SA, Bristol store this afternoon. They had very little Halloween stuff left, and it was marked 90% off. The candy, however, was only 75% off.

I actually found a wreath - it was a hydrangea and twig motif - very pretty - had an orange tag on it. The price on the tag was $34.XX, and I got it for $8.XX. There were also small matching centerpieces and fall candles. I didn't get those, but I remember seeing them.

Thanks DGrant! Found 4 boxes of the Nature Valley granola bars. What a find! The only "fall decor" item I found were tea light candles (red, purple, black) for 39 cents.

Went to Target this morning and they had sent 'everything' to salvage. However, I did find Twix, Snickers and peanut M&M's in the reg. candy section that had the halloween wrapping. The cashier gave me 90% off
