It has been posted on some other websites that a (very few) Walmarts have offered doubles.

I think one area was in Michigan and maybe someplace in Florida?
Seemed to be a very local offering (like just a store or two in any location), perhaps based on other stores doing doubles or something?

It was also mentioned that the cashiers had to do it by manually changing the prices as there wasn't anything programmed into the registers to do it.

how would we find out which walmarts double? There are a ton of walmarts in florida.
