What's With CVS and Their Seasonal Markdown?

CVS is not marking down seasonal like they used to. I stopped at one today, and their Easter candy/chocolate was a whopping 40% off and plush stuffed animals were 60% off, which I needed a couple of, and bought. Easter was nearly TWO weeks ago and they are 40% off! Wow.
