Target easter, some stores 50% some not

Waldorf and Bowie, MD were 50% off although at Waldorf target they had to manually change the price of each easter item when you checked out.
La Plata, MD target was not 50% off at 9 this morning. They scanned a few items with the handheld scanner and said no it's not 50% off. There was a lot there though.

Saw kelly dolls, doodle boards, bug vaccums, easter potato heads, wilton items, funfetti cake mix (no icings).
Most dye kits were gone as were baskets. All had some stuffed animals.

West Cobb/Marietta, GA was scanning full price, but they were adjusting it at the registers. I'm not sure what was up with that. It made it hard to figure out what was included and what wasn't (stuff that was part of the Easter run, but didn't look Easter-y, like the Lego basket stuffers). Maybe I'll try again tomorrow since most people were scanning and putting things back. However, they didn't have a lot left. I went to the Hiram, GA Super Target on Saturday and they were already pretty much wiped out of Easter merchandise except little girls clothing. Some of those will be a good buy if they make it to 75% off or 90% off because a lot of it was more of a 'spring' design rather than Easter specific.

Yes, same thing here, the cashiers wanted to say that things like legos, little magnifying containers with candy bugs and mini animals (horses I think it was) weren't Easter but they were in the Easter bins all season long so they should be part of the clearance.

This is what happened: I was at my Target at 8am, a few of us rushed to the Easter isle. They had the signs up so we figured it was 50% off, after I had a few things in my cart the lady said, it's no longer 50% off, but whatever you have in your cart we will override for 50%.

What happened was Target was having a hard time getting the system to ring up stuff at 50% off. So they sent an e-mail to the stores to stop 50% off. Then after a few of us had a fit, I left to head to another Target. When I got there, there wasn't as much stuff as the first Target, but they were told after the 1st e-mail to manually ring Easter stuff at 50% off.

At my last and final Target of the day, the scanners were finally working. It was just bogus the whole situation this morning.

I did get:

Disney Bubbles - 1.50
Fisher Price amazing animals? - 2.49 (got 2 diff. kinds)
Disney Egg (from Dollar section) .50
Crayola sidewalk chalk bunnies - .99 (3)
Bubble buckets - 2.49 (guy argued with me that they were not Easter- but he gave them to me at that price) -2
Easter book - .50

and i can't remember what else. Some stuff I was saving for 75% off.

I stopped in to Target at North Point Mall around 2:30. There wasn't much there... hardly any candy. I find it hard to believe all of it was sold at 50% off. It wasn't even good prices. For example, the 5 pack of Snicker eggs were normally $2.50 so $1.25 at 50% off. It seems like the sale prices before Easter were close to that price. Anyways, didn't buy much at all... a bag of whopper eggs for a friend ($1) and a single Snicker egg (cuz' I hadn't had any lunch) for $0.25.

I thought the items at WalMart were better... although there wasn't much candy left at 11:30. Will check back with Target when it goes 75% off... I thought the prices were too high. I didn't find any hidden deals... like napkins or anything. Anyone find any hidden items?

Yes, Taget had some problems this morning with all EAster stuff ringing down. If it didn't scan at 50% off == the cashiers were to take 50% off. They fixed it finally at about 12:30pm (central time).

Walgreens didn't have much candy left either.

Ohwell, better for my waistline

Trust me it was a pain the rear for the cashiers too! I told my cashiers if it looked like Easter at all, make it 50%.The See Spot Save was suppose to ring 50% too. Of course we had to manually adjust that too. We had a few women that had heaping carts of Easter, their transactions were taking a long time,so I gave them fresh baked sugar cookies from Food Ave while we got them checked through. That seemed to make them happy and the cashiers weren't so flustered either. By 1:00 everything was ringing correctly.

For some reason, people are not waiting this year. Everything seems to be going at 50% off. I got some stuff today. Trying to wait for 75% for the plastic eggs and stuff. Think Thursday it will be 75%?

PRDNME,
People like you are the ones who keep customers coming back. That was very nice and considerate of you on both the behalf of the cashiers and customers.

I think the stores bought less this year because Easter was so early. I have never seen it so empty BEFORE Easter. I don't think a lot of it was bought at 50% off, I think it was bought before Easter at full (or sale) price.

Also, after Christmas, some of the 'stocking stuffer' type items like the Legos did not go on clearance. These were items that didn't have anything Christmas-y about them, but were in the Christmas aisles. I wondered if it would be the same way with Easter.

I'm not sure. B/c I know my local Target still had so much yesterday. It seemed like the bigger Targets (Super Targets) were completely out of everything.

I was going to wait for the plush Easter baskets to go down, but decided to get a Disney Princess Easter bucket at Walgreens for next year. I figured my dd could use it as a sand bucket instead of having a thousand plush baskets around the house every year.

We were in Indy to visited my DD for Easter and we went to the Westfield Target in the morning and they also had to ring up manually.

I did pick up 2 Easter hot wheels cars
Bob the Builder 3 pk. set
2 doodle pro
puppy in the pocket
kelly doll
basket

non Easter items
Wii Golden Compass - $12.48
heater - $12.48 (picked that up for a friend
DD got matching fireplace stuff at 75%

Went to Fishers and it was ringing up in the system by then.
3 pk. egg mobiles

non Easter
4 - Photokinz - $3.74
They had these on a endcap in the toy isle and was marked from $29.99 straight to 90%.

Stopped at the Wheeling Target on the way home and they had tons of stuff which they always do.
2 kelly dolls
Easter care bear

There stationery - gift wrap went 75% and got a bunch of stuff from there.
Kitchen Aid 7 in. Santonku knife - $4.98
2 mp 8 pk. juice box drinks - .59

Now to put all this stuff away.
Sandy

I didn't have any time to hit Target on Monday so I missed the price adjustment fiasco but when I was there this morning they had signs for 75% off Easter but nothing was ringing up right. The cashier had to manually adjust the stuff I bought and when I got home I realized she forgot to adjust one thing, oh well.
