I went through my points and purchased gifts cards and an itunes gift card. Paypal said my purchase was eligible. =) (I was able to delete my post repeating your info. I did not know that was an option)

I thought I saw something in the fine print that said gift cards weren't eligible. There wasn't anything I needed to buy right now, but I'd buy gift cards if I could to use on later purchases.

At what point did PayPal say your purchase was eligible? Was it while you were placing the order or in an email that came after you submitted the order?

It said the above on the payment screen right before I confirmed on paypal. No where in the fine print did I read differently. I checked on website to read. Unless they figure something else out, mine read "purchase is eligible."

Edited to add. I just returned to bestbuy website and read the same exclusions as you mentioned. I may get this or not. The screen purchase eligible for promotion, NOW I wished I had printed that screen for proof. I needed for future purchase, so I am out of nothing, but am still hoping for the promotion as indicated. Thanks for the heads up.
