Tips for Amazon Shoppers

Tips for Amazon Shoppers:

1. If you see something you want and it’s a great price – get it thenAmazon is notorious for raising prices in a blink-of-an-eye.

2. Don’t trust Amazon’s “Original Price” – it is usually inflated to make you think you are getting a better deal. Do your research – Go to Froogle and see what the actual price is. I also check eBay – if it’s selling for less than on eBay it’s a good deal.

3. Don't get caught up in Grocery Deals - Don't get me wrong, there are some fabulous deals every month, but if you use coupons you may save more by just going to your grocery store. On the other hand - If you have the space, their case-lot deals can really save you money, and it's free delivery. AGAIN, research... know what stuff costs.

4. If you buy from Amazon a lot, consider getting Prime for $79 – this is Free 2 day shipping for 12 month for all items marked Prime. (Most items sold directly from Amazon)

5. If Prime is not for you ... when you are shopping on Amazon and you see some inexpensive items you’d like for a couple dollars – add them to your cart. Then go to your cart and click “Save for Later”.
I usually have about 10 items in my saved cart for a few dollars each so when I need a “filler” to get my price up to $25 for free shipping I just click "Move to Cart" for one of my saved items – this way I’m not scrambling looking for a $3.29 item that I really don’t need or want. There are always books or kitchen nick-knacks for just a couple dollars. (Make sure the items you are saving are PRIME items)

Amazon phone number for automated Service - 1-866-216-1072

Or

Go to Help screen (top right toolbar) – Customer Service “Contact Us” (Right side of page) – Click Phone Tab – enter your phone number – You will get a call from Amazon in a matter of minutes.

As we all know Amazon got rid of the price adjustment on Sept 1st. However...

They did reinstate a new Price Adjustment Policy.

Amazon will price match any item that was purchased that cost over $20 that has had a price reduction within 7 calendar days of the purchase. But you must call them. If you email and the price goes up you will not get the adjustment.

If it is after 7 days you can call and see if they will still do the adjustment.

Anyone else have suggestions Pls add them

Great Post. Thank you.

After I have placed my order, I add all the items I have purchased back into my cart. Then I just go into my cart 2 or 3 times a day or whenever I think about it to see if any of the prices have been reduced. I call immediately if there is a price reduction because I have seen their prices fluctuate quite a few time even during just one day.

I have gotten 2 or 3 credits on one item doing this.

Anyone know of an Amazon filler finder that includes the toy category? Filleritem.com doesn't.

Do they still do the 7 day one if you call?

I hate that they don't do the original kind anymore too! I had things go down $20 after Black Friday when I thought I was already getting a great deal lower then anywhere else! GRRRRR

If you consider stickers to be toys, go to Amazon and search on "dover sticker". There are lots of sticker booklets for $1.00 - $1.50.
