I received my order today from the 40% off & just wanted to let everyone know again that the sale stuff is not the freshest....I ordered 20 boxes of DeCecco pasta & 99% was fine but 2 boxes had a couple stowaways...you know those flour wevils....so I opened all the boxes & put in Food Saver Bags & into the freezer, 24-48 hrs. kills the eggs. I know, gross but they are in most everything, we just can't see then till they hatch.

Close to expiration shouldn't mean the food has critters in it. I'd suggest calling Amazon, and letting them know. I've had to deal with their customer service twice, and both times, they were really helpful.

I purchased a case of Go-Tarts last month that expire in October. However my kids blow through things like that.

I just received an email from DeCecco Pasta company, a reply to mine asking how to read their code dates since it is imported from Italy on the bottom of the boxes & they said shelf life is 18 months to 3 years if stored properly. The boxes I purchased were made in Sept. & Nov. of 07so they are not that old. I emailed Amazon CS also,I don't want anything other than to give them a heads-up....haven't heard back yet.

Thank you so much, OP! I've been away since Friday and missed the start of this sale, but I was able to get some Pemmican Beef Jerky for $1.82 a bag. I usually spend almost $4.00 a bag.
