SLOW loading pages!

Please, someone there fix this problem already!

I can't be the only one still having these problems with pages taking F-O-R-E-V-E-R to load!

I know there are kinks to be worked out, and I appreciate the problems that have been remedied already but.....

This last hurdle is making me crazy.

Please, PLEASE fix this problem!

No you're not alone.

I have not been on mycoupons as much as I used to because of it. It drives me crazy waiting for the page to load. And I know for a fact that it is not my problem, because it is the only site that it occurs on and I have DSL and I never had these problems until this upgrade on MC.

UGGGGHHH!!! I wish it would get fixed cause I really miss the site. I did visit it for hours everyday, but not any more!

Me too! I am so glad to hear it isn't just me. I have dial up and it is soooo slowwww. I haven't been on as much either

Ironically...this thread took the longest to load

I have the "super fast" fios (better than cable) and I have to wait about a minute for each page to load. Don't get me wrong, it's worth the wait but yes, it does need fixed! I am very happy they fixed the text size problem though.

What exactly did they do besides put a large "search" field at the top and put a community tab at the top? I don't see any other changes (other than the speed). I am on a sudafed, phenergan, and codiene coctail though...

All of the boards here are slow, but this one is the absolute slowest to load. I can't even begin to imagine how slow dial up is.

I can read a couple of threads and then I can't stand it any more and I go t another board. I hate that.

Come on, Please FIX the slow loading pages already. Its really really nervewracking. It took me forever just to get here to post this. This is not an improved site, its ruined if it stays like it is.

We made a configuration change this morning that should have improved performance a bit. Since I personally do not experience the degree of slowness that all of you are experiencing, can you let me know if you have noticed any change at all?

Greg-- I am not noticing any improvement. I get a lot of hang time (looking at the blue screen) waiting for pages to load and then after the page is displayed I have another lag before I can scroll or post

didn;t improve at all for me.

i rarely come to this site at all any more, except to see if things have gotten any better.

you may lose a lot of your posters because of this slowness.

I am not having any problem nor I did I when the upgrade happened. I have an upgraded cable connection and the only slightly odd thing is that I see the blue background page with the white on the top and the lighter blue as it goes down for about 5 seconds before the rest of the page appears.

Maybe you should ask everyone basic info about their systems to help you narrow down the problem area.

I am using Windows XP on a 3 year old pc. No bells and whistles...just your basic desktop pc. I also occasionally use my son's new laptop that also has Windows XP (I refuse to do the free upgrade to Vista on that laptop because of all the reported problems). I am able to load MyCoupons pages easily through a wireless connection.

I very rarely come to my coupons forum any more. I can't stand how slow everything loads, it takes forever just to read 1 post and when I try to change pages whatever other pages I have up they all hang up. This is just too annoying to deal with. Please hurry up and get this thing fixed so we can all come back and enjoy the forums.

We made more changes both yesterday afternoon and this morning. I'm sorry it is taking a bit to get the boards running quickly for all of you. We have made a bunch of changes that should have a positive impact. Are things looking any better?

Came to this forum to see if anyone else is having this problem. Relieved to see that they are, albeit sorry at the same time!

When I first open a page, I get the blue screen with the white on the top, which has already been mentioned. That only lasts a couple seconds, and then the page appears to load. However, after I read the first post and attempt to scroll down- I get the treaded "wait" timer and a page that locks up for maybe 10 seconds.

I'm also using XP on a computer that's a few years old. I have a cable modem and am not having any problems at other web sites. In fact, I am browsing other forums while this one loads- because the wait time bores me to tears.

Hi All, we just pushed a change out that reduces some of the code that gets executed when viewing the shopping boards, the end result is that we shaved the load time down by over 20%. Is this what you are all seeing?

Greg, I see a significant improvement today, however, I still think you have some more work to do because there is still a noticable delay. Its 8-10 seconds as compared to 30-1 minute before today.

I am on a 2 yr old Laptop with XP and on AOL with Cable Modem.

HUGE improvement for me! There's maybe a 2 second delay when the specific board loads, but after that- it's smooth sailing.

I'm very, very pleased that you are all seeing an improvement in the speed. My team and I are not done yet and we are still seeking additional tweaks that can wring out a bit more speed from the system.

We have invested a large amount of money to improve both the functionality of the site and in brand new extremely powerful servers. The new gear supporting the new site is much bigger and badder than anything that has ever powered MyCoupons.
