Lightbulb Coupon Credits-Questions

Ok, I have a few questions/comments/suggestions (whatever you want to call it) regarding the couponcredits.

Ok, I've been a member of the forums for years, but didn't even notice the couponcredits until a few months ago. Since then, I have participated a lot, and have gotten two $25 GC's (thank you very much, by the way). But when I earned them, it was a whole lot easier to earn points.

I understand that you are giving big rewards for using featured coupon codes because you referred the shopper. However, for those of us who do not shop online often (or those of us that do, but are broke right now... ), the point earning opportunities have recently become very limited.

I do understand that this is to help promote people to shop through MyCoupons. However, recently, I have not earned ANY points at all for tagging coupon codes, even if I spend a long time doing it. I try & submit coupon codes as often as I can, but even they don't earn you that many points. And I am doing the millionaire merchant madness, but that only earns 10 points per email, and for a lot of the websites, it will not accept the email address if the word info or service is in the email address. I know that is to get us to look around and try and find the specific email for the marketing department. And while I do that, for a lot of the websites that are smaller companies, there is only one email address for them, and a lot of the time it contains one of the words that it will not accept. Just wondering if that part has been mentioned to you guys yet?

I am not complaining at all, please don't take it that way. I love the program and appreciate all I have earned so far.

However, in my opinion I think that while you reward big for people that shop through you, you do need to have more point earning opportunities for those of us who cannot spend money through you, but still spend a whole lot of time trying to make the site better, by submitting codes, tagging, etc. Just wanted to remind you to reward the loyal mycouponers who might not can spend money through you, but take a lot of time trying earn points, but the points are so much lower for these things that you cannot possibly catch up with the shoppers. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback, and thank you for your contributions to the MyCoupons Community.

As you correctly noted, there are a few different ways to accrue points in our monthly contests. The more value that an activity creates for MyCoupons, the greater the amount of points that we award. Many of the ways that points are awarded are based on group input, rather than by a single individual. This is the case with tagging coupons and adding new codes. Tags are most useful when they help users find coupons that they are searching for, and so the more relevant your tags are (based on user activity) the more your points go up over time. The same is true when adding a coupon…in order to ensure that users enter valid coupons, your points are based on the rating that your coupon code gets over time.

As for the Millionaire Merchant Madness, we do realize that it can be a challenge getting the best email address, and that is why there are points awarded regardless of how successful your efforts are in bringing a new merchant to MyCoupons. Obviously, if you are successful it is worth quite a bit more!

You do make a good point that perhaps the number of points given for some activities should be revisited, and changes will be considered. We will also continue to come up with new opportunities for you to get rewarded…stay tuned!

THANK YOU...we appreciate your questions and participation...you are a BIG part of the fast growing MyCoupons Community!

Thanks for your response & I'm glad to hear that someone is listening.

Also, one more suggestion. I know that there is the posts that talk about how to earn coupon credits, but it would probably be helpful to members & moderators/administrators (whichever you prefer!) if there was a coupon credits FAQ on the coupon credits page.

HTH!
