anyone else having problems accessing the site?

I have a cable modem, but lately (I assume since they started putting video ads on EVERY page) I have trouble accessing the site. I often have to refresh several times to get something other than a blank page to come up. Not an error message, just a blank page w/ NOTHING on it.

I'm having a problem with all of the page loading, it takes a while for the bottom of the page to load.

no problems here, I am on cable modem, with a MAC.

For those having problems could it be because of pop ups and such?? I know I used to have lots of problems on my Dell, with different things "attaching" themselves to my computer.

I don't get pop ups - 2 blockers in effect. I clear my cache and cookies 2 - 3 times/week. It's only this site.

I had problems yesterday with it loading. Had to refresh before it would load a page and ended up just leaving the site. Not worth the wait! I have DSL. Today it's better.

I also have cable and am having the same problem as OP. And it freezes up my computer and the bottom always says downloading banner ad.....it happened 3 or 4 times yesterday until I refused to try anymore. I thought I'd give it a shot again today and if it freezes up again, I won't be here until it's fixed...too frustrating for me, LOL. I have no problems with any other site either.

A page not loading isn't going to have anything to do with the brand of computer you have, and won't have much to do with the type of internet you have, either, unless your ISP's having problems (it happens from time to time). It may relate to your browser (AOL shows the most issues, in general, I like Firefox, but IE works), or restrictive security settings. Most likely, the server or the database the boards run on is a bit busy, or an ad's loading from a different, slow server. At least at the moment, this site doesn't have popups, so if you're seeing them, run something like Ad-Aware, because you've got something else on your computer!

I get a video playing on the Home Page. I would consider that "a pop up and such". Jaded, you may get better luck posting on the Help board.

I was having those problems on Thursday. None yesterday or so far today.

ETA - well I spoke too soon. I just got hung up on a page. I have to hit CTRL, ALT, DLT to close the window each time it happens.

LOL, I had to go to the main page to see what video you guys were talking about cause I never noticed it because I never let the whole page load because it takes waaay to long, as soon as I can see the "shopping board" word I go to that. Yes, the pages have been taking longer to load. I have dial-up.

A popup's a whole new window. The video's are just Flash movies, but they do take time to load, and may be too much for some connections. Don't mind me, I'm not trying to be argumentative, but it is important to know if you're getting popups from the site you're visiting -- because if they're coming from elsewhere, you've probably got software on your computer that shouldn't be there.

gotcha. No problem. I guess they are the "and such" part. I see there are TWO videos on there this morning. Hopefully they can get some kind of fix on here so people having troubles can view more easily. What a pain, huh??
