I'm thinking of redeeming for one of these for the first time. What are their rules? Is there a problem using them like Visa GC's (I find a lot of place try to place an authorization charge - leaving the card with not enough money to process it)? Are there any fees involved?

The freeride site just doesn't give a lot of information about it.

I had a Virtual Visa until just recently. I finally zeroed it out and won't get it again as I don't feel it's right for my any longer.

1. It's only available from Freeride and I just don't get enough points at Freeride to activate it often enough to keep from fees being deducted.

2. It can only be used at online merchants. They won't issue a hard card (even for a fee) to be used at B&M merchants.

I also redeemed for 1 in Aug for $50. I rec'd an email from them but no code to redeem it. I have emailed them several times and have yet to receive an answer
