Thanks for the heads up.I've been picking up a TRACE file called plugin131_18.trace the past few days.I constantly have to delete it.I don't know where I'm picking it up at as Avast doesn't think anything of it.Can't find any info on the internet about it but I do know how it affects my computer.

Found this on google about a TRACE file.
Definitions of Trace File on the Web:

The file written by an instrumented application (or by the Coverage Server which is collecting information from the same) to store coverage information. The terminology diagram displays the Mcabe analysis process.
A file that provides you with a history of transactions. In Expedite Base/MVS, there are two types of trace files: base trace (BASETRC) and link trace (LINKTRC).
A file output during the execution of the Zurk program that records all I/O interaction with the PLAYER.

plugin131.trace is a log or dump file, it is used with a mozilla java plugin. You can delete it, doesn't hurt anything, but it will be recreated every time you reboot.

It isn't recreated when I reboot, because I check. And it is not harmless because it messes up the way my computer shows the sites I have visited. It may have something to do with java but it has only come around when visiting a certain site.I keep an eye on my C: folder, Windows Folder,System folder and TEMP folder constantly throughout the day.Its my own little virus protection program.

I was simply trying to allay your fears about this in that it is not harming your system. If you are constantly having to delete the file, that means it is coming back in the reboot. The reason why it is generated when visiting a certain website is most likely due to that website using plugin131_18, this would create a log file or "trace" of the visit.
The info that you found is pertaining to those particular processes which you cited and if you read further into each process you'll see that they pertain to log and dump files.

This explains what a .trace file is
http://filext.com/detaillist.php?extdetail=TRACE

and this is what plugin131.trace is:
http://www.google.com/search?q=plugi...=&start=0&sa=N

I just don't want peeople to panic and start deleting files from their PCs unnecessarily.

Whatever you think, but I know it messes up my computer.

BTW ,I read the page of your link ,the lady who posted said just thats what she "believed " it to be ,which doesn't sound very certain to me.

And it is NOT comming back at reboot.I don't lie!

I don't believe I called you a liar in either of my posts.

Thank you for the negative reps. I was wondering if they would show up the same as the positive ones and they do. Little red boxes instead of green ones, date, time and name of poster.

After I told you it wasn't comming back in the reboot you posted the following.Notice what is in red.I'm sorry about the neg. reps, I can give you a positive one if reps matter that much to you or you can give me a neg, too, lol. I always wanted to know what a negative rep does too and it doesn't bother me getting any. I also never told anyone to delete the file ,I just mentioned it was giving my computer problems, which doesn't mean it will give everyone elses computer problems.
Anything that messes with the way my computer normally functions is harming my computer in my opinion.

Why such a vicious response to someone who was just trying to explain something to you? To me, that reply seemed to come out of left field. She was trying to explain what that file was, and in layman's terms...hell even I understood what she was saying. I honestly do not feel that she was calling you a "liar". I think she was saying that is what the file usually does. Either take the information and learn, or rebut with your own information, but there was no call for all the nastiness.

If that's how you react to everyone that tries to help you, thanks for the heads up. I won't bother.

PS..you can neg me if you want..I don't even know what it means ..LOL!

No I think that is to report a post to the mods. I tried to find out on my user CP, but I don't see anything that even looks like a rep. I know they used to have a system where you could click a little image of the scales of justice and it would take you to a page where you could do that. But I believe they did away with it because users were abusing the system.

Yea the last post was 12-15, but someone replied on 7-3, bringing it up to my "new posts" view...if I 'restarted" anything, I apologize. I honestly did not look at the dates, but assumed it was a new post since it showed up on my new postings.

Wow, that was rather reduntant..lol!
