My new email account full of spam

I started a new email account at gmail for TSIFR and in one week I received over 3,000 spam messages. Wow! I can't believe this many in only one week of opening this account.

Who would I complain to? I deleted all the spam emails this morning and just went to check and there are 104 more! I only used this for a couple of offers on TSIFR. I also use a hotmail account and never got this many spam messages.

since you only use the email for TSIFR i would complain to them, the emails that
you still have should have a link to unsubscribe from their emails,i would do this first
to see if this will help solve your problem,if it doesn't then email TSIFR,good luck and
let us know how you come out with this

today there were 750 emails in my spam folder. This is just crazy. I tried to opt out of a few but this would take me forever. I can't believe doing TSIFR would generate this much spam mail.

I think I will close this email out. I notice that a lot of the spam emails are from the Scooter store and various other sponsors on TSIFR. But, I always delete my information from the form even when I hit the skip button.

No - I would be willing to bet there is no virus - it's just the results of these kind of programs
When you sign up on these kind of offers your email gets passed around quickly
That's why you want to use an email address that you maintain for that program only
I get thousands of spam mails every week - but because I only use the email for these programs
I have no problem or worry in just emptying them out each day - no sorting necessary

Glad to hear I'm not the only one getting hit with all this spam. I did get this email mainly for TSIFR and I expected to get some spam but not this much. Only problem is I have to sort through for the confirmations from some of the offers which I have to click on to get credit.

I get lots of spam emails also but I check my email after each signup. It's easy to see the ones that you need to confirm and then just delete the rest that way you can keep it under control.
