Hollowfest at Busch Gardens is a must. If your kids are young go later in the afternoon and stay through for the fest. The ghost tour in Williamsburg is a lot of fun and I recommend the outlets (not the Pottery Factory). There are one or two stores at the Pottery Factor worth looking into but thats about it. Yankee Candle in Williamsburg is totally worth the visit, even if your not buying. The center of the Store creates falling snow. Have fun.

Go to Jamestown and York town which are close to Williamsburg to get the complete history tour. They have a new visitor center in Williamsburg.

You can also walk the "streets" of Colonial Williamsburg, all the way down. That will be free. You can still stop in the little shops, eat at the Taverns, enjoy those in costume, and admire the buildings from the outside, without paying admission. You don't have to pay for this. Now, if you really want to absorb the history, it is totally worth it to see the insides of the mansion, the magazine, the house of delegates etc. Just depends on how much time and how much $$ you would like to spend.

If you get a chance to do any of the night programs in Colonial Williamsburg, they are worth every penny! On our last trip we watched a colonial play "The Guardian", and it was wonderful. We also went on one the ghost tour, and saw "Cry Witch" at the courthouse. We enjoyed them all very much!
