For travel between 375 and 549 miles, fares are $50 one-way. For travel between 550 and 999 miles, fares are $75 one-way. Lastly, for travel more than 1,000 miles, fares are just $100 one-way.

The first travel season is December 2 thru December 16, 2009 which is the two off peak travel weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The second travel period is between January 5 and February 10, 2010 . What a way to kick off the 2010 travel season with the same low airfares.

This sale was started by Southwest Airlines, but American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Continental Airlines, US Airways, Alaska Airlines, and even AirTran Airways, jetBlue, Virgin America, and Frontier Airlines should match this super hot airfare sale by 10 am central today.
