Just a heads up about what I have been reading. The trend seems to be for rising airfares thru the summer. The biggest reason given seems to be the cost of fuel. I have travel planned for this summer and I am currently searching for airfares. I have been using FareCompare - Cheapest Airline Tickets, Cheap Flights, Travel Deals, Cheap Tickets and Discount Airfares to keep track of the flights that I want to take. When the airfare falls, I get an automatic email. I do the same with rental cars on hotwire.com I have listed the dates that I am leaving, and I get an email when the car rates fall or rise. Remember, usually the best deals on cars are made well in advance. I have had very good luck with hotwire, but I also frequent the rental agency sites directly because if you book with hotwire, you are locked in, with most of the rental agenices, if the price drops, you can change your reservation and get it for the lower price.
