Cedar Point, OH

Anyone know if there are discount tickets for Cedar Point? This is our first time going and I would like any and all information regarding the area and the park if anyone has any.

Thanks in advance

Also, check out the soda cans when you get into town. Often those have discounts printed on them. HTH!

One really helpful bit of info. for us was that every restaurant or stand will give you free ice water. (not the free-standing carts though). We skipped bringing in our cooler for drinks because of this! It is listed on the CP website. Also, be sure to check out the $.25 sticks of cotton candy! We just went last Fri. and we all had a blast! If you have younger child, be sure to stop at park services for a parent pass. It allows one parent to stay with younger children while the other rides with older children. The waiting parent is then able to go in the exit and ride the ride! I usually took our 6 year old nearby to ride, came back and rode with one of my older children. They got extra rides, I still got to ride with no wait and the little guy didn't spend all daY waiting around. Those things all made our day at CP terrific!!!

Have fun! Hit the big rides early or at meal times to avoid lines. We rode almost everything and rarely waited. The "oldies" in the coasters had almost no lines because everyone was at the new rides! LOL Poor old neglected coasters. Mean Streak is a great wooden coaster and seems to be forgtten in the back!

To add to the ice water tip...we took Crystal Light To Go packets with us to the park and turned the free ice water into lemonade. We used one packet for two drinks. The kids loved this.

You are also allowed to leave the park once so it is cheaper to eat at a restaurant in Sandusky than paying for park food. However, if you want to eat in the park, eat near the Iron Dragon at the car hop place. They have really cheap food and you are allowed to go back and get free refills. You can also buy the snoopy cups which have a 2 dollar refill at any restaurant you go to. I try to park way up front. Most people don't know that there are any parking spots up there because they park where the parking guys tell them too. You can also park in the back of the park near soak city which you can hit the back of the park first where most people hit the front first. Hope that helps.

Oh, how I miss this park! I grew up in N. Ridgeville, OH, and we went to Cedar Point at least once every summer. After I moved away after college in 1990, I have only had a chance to go to CP maybe 4 times in 16 years. I have been to many theme/amusement parks, but Cedar Point IS truly the best! There is just nothing like it - especially if you love roller coasters, as I do. DH and I took our 3 kids in 2003, they were 8 and 3 (twins) at the time, and they still talk about CP and ask when can we go back? I'm thinking next summer it's time again!

I also LOVE to watch the PBS special that is on from time to time about Cedar Point. (I sound like an old fogey, don't I, but I'm 36, LOLOL!)

Have a GREAT time!!!! The Magnum and Millenium Force are not to be missed! As is Mean Streak, Raptor (a very smoooooooth ride), and many, many others.
