Vegas Trip/Comments

Has anyone here been to Vegas? I go atleasty twice a year and always stay at a different hotel. The next hotel I want to stay at is NY NY. I've already seen the Cirque show called Zumanity (very good show). A roller coaster travels around the hotel. It has a 144 ft drop. I'm a big thrill ride person. Has anyone ever stayed at the NY NY hotel?

I would never stay at the NY NY again. We stayed there right after it opened on a business trip and didn't care for it. It may have been that we were there for business and had to actually sleep LOL The coaster runs into the early AM so you will hear the screaming and coater running by your room so if sleep will be needed, I would skip it.

I also do not like Bally's. I enjoyed Bellagio and Rio but haven't stayed at most of the newer places due to their cost

I was there 6 years ago and loved it! We loved it so much, I recommended it to my parents who went the following year and also enjoyed staying there. They have New York food places in their downstairs mall type area. Their rooms were nice. It is centrally located.

It's an average hotel. We prefer to stay at the Venetian, Bellagio or Paris. We're trying the Wynn next time.

I have never stayed at NY NY, but I love the way it looks. We stay at the Imperial Palace - It's in the middle of the strip across from Caesars. It's one of the least expensive. If you don't spend a lot of time in your room - we go there to sleep and shower - and you don't really care about glitz and glamor in your room then it's a great place to stay - Nice and Clean.

We could stay at one of the finer hotels, but I'd much rather spend my $$$ on the casino floor or at shows.

When we go to Vegas ( was just there in Jan.) We either stay at the Wynn or MGM Signature Towers.

I love staying at the Signature as all rooms are Suites with stove/fridge the Bathrooms are incredible with real jacuzzi, seperate potty room. Big Glass showers and a flat screen tv to watch while your in the Jacuzzi. You have a livingroom and can get a balcony that over looks the strip. It is a gated hotel with no casino but is connected to the MGM Grand so all of the Vegas fun is just a moving sidewalk away. I enjoyed the hotel being quiet and being able to go to the hustle and bustle when I wanted too. I also liked that it is gated no one gets in unless they have a key or they are on a guest list you provide. So I felt really safe there.

While we were there in Jan. We went and saw The Body Experience, The Titanic Exhibit, The Cirqe de Soule type show at the MGM. We also went to Old Vegas and spent the day to watch the light show. Then ofcourse the Bellagio fountains and shows like that along the strip are a must see.

Thanks for your comments. I know the Spat at New York was just remodeled. I want to check out Rok Vegas coming in summer. Live entertainment with a 360 degree wraparound screen and dance platforms would be cool to see.
