Going to Pittsburgh, PA

Going to Pittsburgh, PA next week for the U.S. Transplant Games in downtown Pittsburgh. Any restaurants, sights, museums etc. that we shouldn't miss out on? Thanks for your help.

DH and I love Primanti Brothers. There's a picture of their famous sandwich here :
Primanti Brothers Restaurant - Pittsburgh's Most Famous Sandwiches
They put cole slaw (not the creamy kind) and french fries on the sandwich. Good prices too.

Thanks. We will be there for 5 days. We'll be sure to check it out. We see a Pirates game on Friday night. I love Major League Baseball. This should be fun.

You are going to love PNC Park. The view from the stadium is amazing!!! I have been to several games there. You can get your Primanti Bros. sandwich at the ballpark too instead of going to their restaurant. Have fun!!

Did you see that John McCain and his wife were just in Pittsburgh...and they ate at Primanti's?

Also....since you're going to PNC, I thought I'd add what my DSs always tell people. They say that in the men's room there are big windows in front of the urinals over looking the ball park....so you can pee and see. You'd never believe how many people believe them that that's how the park got it's name.

I live about 15 min from Pittsburgh, YES go to Primanti Brothers for the sandwiches, they are the best!. If you are taking kids, there is the zoo, Kennywood Park. Tons to do in Pittsburgh. The ballpark is awesome.

You could also see Mt. Washington and the Inclines, The National Aviary, The Strip, is my favorite place to walk and shop!,,Phipps Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Have fun , take your walking shoes!

Got back from Pittsburgh yesterday. The transplant games were awesome. We did go to Primani Bros. for sandwiches. I've never had a sandwich with french fries on it! That was cool. The strip district had great shops. The Duquesne incline was beautiful. The only hard part was trying to find our way around the streets in the city. Lots of construction.
The ball park was wonderful. The Pirates lost on Friday night but they won on Saturday. The fireworks were the best I have ever seen.
Thanks for all the tips and advice. You guys are great!
