I am going to myrtle beach in october

the family kingdom will be closed then, so i was looking at either going to hard rock park or nascar speedpark

does anyone have any advice, my son is 4, i want to make sure i go somewhere that would be fun too him. (any advice on aquariums or shows, would greatly be appreciated.)

we have already made our hotel plans , and the hotel has a huge indoor water park. so that is taken care of.

Smile Cirque show info

We just went to the beach a couple weeks ago and attended the Cirque show at Broadway at the Beach. We didn't have little children with us but there were lots of them there. We loved it. The oldest performer looked to be around 20 and they were amazing. The dog act was also great but the acrobatics were what we really enjoyed. Hope you have fun.

I was wondering about Hard Rock park also - we are going to be in the area in a couple weeks and thought about going there. I checked online and it didn't seem to have many rides (for the money they charge). Has anyone been there yet?

I haven't, but friends have. It's not really a very good place for young children. I would say more for teens and up.

myrtle beach

my family just came back from Myrtle Beach and we visited the Nascar speedpark. We had a 6 yr old and a 9 year old and they could only get on 2 go cart tracks. It is definetly not somewhere you would want to spend more than 2-3 hours at.

I live in Mytle Beach but have yet to make it to the Hard Rock Park.. My dh worked there when it was being built and he said everything was extremely expensive so we have yet to go.. I know he said an order of fries was 7.50. They have already reduced the prices because of not bring busy..

The Nascar Park only has a couple of tracks the younger kids can ride. There are a few amusement rides for them but still not worth the $$ in my opinion.

I do have a few recommendation of cheaper things.. My kids both love, love the Waccatee Zoo.. You can buy food and feed almost all the animals. Very reasonable priced as well There is also a nice long Riverboat that leaves from there, my kids liked that as well. The Ripleys aqaurium is great for that age as well. Broadway also has some rides set up from the old Pavilion that is great for younger kids and you can pay just for the ones they want to ride. There is also a nice Children's museam near Broadway.

Also my kids love things like Putt Putt, the maze mania, pier fishing.. I think you can rent fishing rods?, or just hanging out at Broadway at the beach.. There is entertainers there, fish you can feed, etc.. We also have an East of Chicago, similar to a Chuckie Cheese, where the kids can make thier own pizzas.

As for shows I would also recommend the Dixieland Stampede.. Great show and pretty good food..

Also there are a ton of visitor type books here that have coupons for almost anything and everything.. Make sure you pick those up when you get here..

I love living here and would not leave for anything but we can't do the "tourist" thing much because it does get expensive when the kids want to go all the time.

The aquarium will be open. That's a great place to go.

Plus my boys loved Medieval Times. NASCAR park will be limited to what your little one can drive. They're really strict about that.

But the prices will be lower, for sure!

Have a great time!

I would suggest you dont take small children downtown after dark if there is lots of teenagers there when you go.

If I remember correctly, we only paid a $1.00 per person to go out on the pier in April.

There's so much for the kids to do at Broadway on the Beach. We all loved the aquarium and ours are teenagers. Nascar was a nice park...great arcade, go-carts, and bungee jumping.

I think since yours are younger, they would get a kick out of the Dixie Stampede. Our group included 7 teenagers and certainly wasn't for them! All of us adults really enjoyed it.

There is a putt-putt on every single corner (not really, but it seems like it!) and it was funny playing at several and checking them out.

We also did the helicopter rides at the end of the airport runway. Very reasonable, too.

There's SO much to do just 5 and 10 minutes away. We went to Murrell's Inlet and that was beautiful. There's fishing charters out of there and so many other things to do. They're park was just beautiful.

Where are you guys staying, if I'm not being too noisey?

Hope you have a great time!
