Driving and Saving

Does anyone here have any different ideas for saving gas money besides taking the bus when running errands?

Plan your trip so you aren't backtracking. Myself I kind of plan a loop, kwim. If I'm in an outdoor shopping center and I need to go to the other end I don't drive and walk. Also, I don't run out to the store daily anymore. I save them for 1 or 2 at the most trips.

There's lots of little things you can do with your driving to improve your fuel efficiency (MPG).....some safe, some not...usually it's anything that prevents slowing down and starting up, minimizing the use of your brakes, etc. I've been playing with this a bit and can raise my MPG for my normal driving by 10-20%. Not bad, but it can piss other drivers off when I coast to the red light.....LOL
