We are planning on coming to Milwaukee July 2009 for the circus parade. Wondering what hotels are recommended downtown - particularly are there any hotels right on the parade route?

Also, for anyone who has been to the parade, how early do you need to be there to set up a chair and be curbside? I know there is bleacher seating, but one person in our party is afraid of heights and won't do bleacher seating at all.

Well, I was born and raised in Milwaukee. Moved to Maryland 21 years ago when I was 35. Been to many circus parades but not recently. I will ask my brother-in-law if he know the route and which hotels to use. When you are there, you should see the Harley-Davidson Museum. We were there the Monday after in opened and then in August right before the 105th anniversary.
