Laughlin

We there last year in July & it was 117 degrees!!! If you like to gamble the casinos are all within walking distance of each other. There is a river walk that runs the length of the Colorado River which is very pretty.

Laughlin is really nice. It is a mini Vegas. You can see a show, go to movies, shopping. We have gone numerous times since I turned 21(MANY MANY years ago). My Mom goes at least 5 times a year(maybe more). We have stayed at Ramada, Edgewater, Flamingo but Harrahs is our favorite. Harrahs would be quite a walk to the other casino's(but it can be done). January weather will be nice(not cold). How long are you going to be there? You could do Hoover Dam.....

I personally have not been to the outlet mall. I can ask Mom about it. As far as cheap places to eat, almost every casino offers a cheap buffet. The golden Nugget has a nice restaurant with Prime rib. We have done the Riverside buffet for crab legs but mainly we are true to Harrahs. They offer so much variety and to us the food taste better(not too buffet like). Depends on what you like. Did you google Laughlin? You could probably look up all the hotels and see what will be going on while you are there. I think the biker convention is in March or April so you will miss that(very neat to see--we have been there a couple times when they were in town). Have you been to Vegas? I have never been to Vegas so Laughlin was really neat for me to see. It is really neat to come across the bridge from Bullhead City at night and see all the lights. Have FUN!!!!

I stayed at the Colorado Belle a few years ago when I went with a group. I don't think they are one of the nicest hotels, but not real bad.

One thing I didn't get in the room that most hotels have now is a coffeemaker. I like to bring my own coffee supplies and drink plenty of coffee. After I returned I e-mailed them and they told me if I had requested one, they would have supplied it. But if I had known there wouldn't be one in the room, I have a 2-cupper I could have brought with me.

Been to Laughlin?? Heck I work there.
Seriously I have worked at the Pioneer Hotel and Gambling Hall for almost twenty years.
I am including a couple links that I think will be useful. The first is to the Laughlin Entertainer which is a weekly magazine that tells what is going on in town. They list all the restaurants, specials, tournaments and shows. When you arrive you will be able to get a copy (free) somewhere near the hotel check in.

Laughlin Entertainer: Front

And this link is the the a travel board dedicated to Laughlin that is very helpful with different opinions on the area.

If you have more questions you think I can help with let me know.
One tip I will give you is that If you want transportation between the casinos, the bus system is a pleasure to deal with. Cheap and safe.
