Need Help with LA Hotels during vaca stay

Is it too far to stay in downtown LA and drive to Universal Studios/Hollywood? How long of a drive do you think it would be (mins). It says 7 miles, but how long I wonder the drive would be..lol

On another note, what about the drive from Westwood to Universal/Hollywood? How long of a drive would that be (in your experience)??

Thank you!!!!

Having only been there once, I'm not sure I can really help you. We stayed at the Renaissance in Hollywood (right near the Kodak theater, Wax Museum, etc.). We were able to go by train to Universal (just a few stops). We went by bus to Rodeo Dr.

Try posting your question on tripadvisor.com. You'll get a lot of information.

Maybe you could try tripadvisor.com and search with the words hotels, Universal Studios. We used tripadvisor when we traveled up to Washington and it was a tremendous help.

That is an excellent resource I agree. I have also only been one time so I can't answer your question either. I know the traffic in LA was a bear!! I will tell you we got our best deals on hotels by going through priceline.com It made a significant difference in pricing!!
