We stayed at the Renaissance hotel during the 2007 Country Music Fest. Just a block off of Broadway. We loved it. Nashville TN, Hotel: Downtown Nashville Hotel in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee Opry not near where we stayed, if you're looking for something closer to Broadway and where the bars are. If not I heard Opry is really nice. |

I think you need to know that the Opry is NOT in downtown Nashville where all the smaller bars and entertainment is. It's actually quite a ways away, so you'd be doing a little driving to go to the bars. Not like a long distance, but it isn't a place where you are going to walk out and hit some of the local night spots. It's also VERY expensive, but nice. I guess the question is are you going for romance (which I suspect is a BIG part of your trip) or are you country music fans???

Yes, we are going for the romance. I knew the Opry was not in downtown. I was thinking if we stayed at the Opry that we would probably shop and stay in and around the hotel. We are not huge country music fans, but I do like to listen to it. I just like the atmosphere of the downtown area. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a hotel and it is a dump or just not worth it.
