Busch Gardens, VA

Any helpful tips on Busch Gardens in VA? We will be there this Sunday all day and I'm trying to plan our attack on lunch and dinner.

Thanks!

BG Williamsburg is a wonderful park. You might have trouble fitting it all in with just one day. As for tips, I would suggest trying to do the roller coasters early in the day. Try to time it out so you get a chance to see all the shows. As for food...I have never had a bad meal at BG. The food is a bit expensive, but wonderful. Our favorite place to eat is the Fest Hause (sp) in Germany. They have a big selection and often have entertainment! If you have little ones, they will love Land of the Dragons. On our vacations to Williamsburg we usually get a flex pass which allows unlimited access to BG, Water Country USA, Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown. We usually make a week long trip out of it and usually do the historical stuff during the day, and we would go to BG every night after 5, and stay until is closed. It worked out great for us, because by late in the day the crowds thin out, its cooler and there are not lines for the rides. Our kids could often get off a coaster and turn right around and get back on and not have to wait in a line at all! Hope you have a wonderful trip and build some great memories...

If your family loves the water rides, be sure to pack a change of clothes and throw them in a bag in the car. I tell the kids that we ride the water rides last so that they are not running around in wet shoes and clothes all day (yuck). We hit the water rides last, DH gets the clothes from the bag and everyone changes and enjoys the ride home peacefully
The food is great and the portions are huge (2 kids could share an adult entree). If you're a VA resident, you can pay for one day to the park and get a pass to return all summer (if you plan to come back later).
Be prepared for crowds on the weekends. Bring lots of sunblock and have fun!
