| Moi, I find clipping coupons relaxing. I can plunk myself down in front of the television and clip away. I kick into high gear when the commercials come one since they are already an insult to ones intelligence. At the local public library (Cuyahoga County Public Library) I utilized the Internet computers to print out my IP (Internet Printable) coupons. I honestly feel like I am printing out money! Yep, my property taxes at work. Currently, there is no charge for the paper but that will soon change. Most likely the first ten printouts will be free with additional being 5’ each. + Terence in Brook Park, oHIo |

I'm right there with madhousenmich. 5 years ago, I used to walk the neighborhood on recycling day so I could fish out the coupon circulars from the newspapers. I'd walk my baby in his stroller & stuff the storage area underneath full of circulars. Then, I'd come home & spend the afternoon during his nap cutting & sorting multiples of amazing coupons & go to my super double ($1 face value became $2) store & buy $200+ worth of groceries for $40-50ish dollars. It was fantastic fun! I'd bring five or six bags of groceries to the church food pantry collection bin every week & still have more food at my house than we could reasonably store. For a new mom who'd quit her job to stay home, it was God's provision for us, living on hubby's income alone. Nowadays, he makes a little more money, but we have another child, I'm still at home, & the doubles have dried up. So, these days, I just do the best I can with discount stores & buying short dated items on clearance. My mom got me a Sam's Club membership for my birthday so that's been helpful with buying diapers at a reasonable price & a few other things. It used to be a game & was very enjoyable! But, now honestly, it's become more of a mundane chore these days. I wish I could get reenergized. |

much like squinkle99 I used to find it fun to clip them and get free goods to donate. Now I just purchase store brands to save money since the good deals with coupons are far and few between. I usually shop at target for my paper goods and pantry items.

I don't usually find many coupons for items I use and I don't like spending hours driving around store to store to get the deals. I prefer to go to Costco and do all my shopping in one fell swoop and I know my prices so I only buy things there if they really are cheaper than WinCo which is the cheapest priced store in this area. I also like the idea of buying enough of something that I don't have to worry about buying it again for a long time. I get back my membership fee because I also get 2% back on all purchases. For me this is the best way to shop. But I can totally understand how clipping would be relaxing and looking at it like clipping or printing out money is not too far from the truth!

I'm working 3rd shift right now so just about everything I do is a major chore. Once the 3rd shift is over, I find coupon clipping to be enjoyable. I get my inserts out and clip them while I watch the cartoons on Fox on Sunday night. I check out all the inserts then too so I'm set for my weekly shopping.
