Smile Fred's opening soon in my town, should I get excited???

We have a Fred's store opening soon in our town. I can't find much info about the store here at mycoupons. I am wondering if they still double up to $1 coupons on Sat. or if there is any other info. you could share with me about them.

About 100 years ago, I lived in the great state of GA and I was a Fred's shopper.

The store that I frequented was in Austell, GA (northwest of Atlanta).

Fred's

"Since the first Fred's store opened in 1947 in Coldwater, MS, we have continuously given our guests the best values on everyday essentials!

You will find everything your heart desires at Fred’s.

We offer everything from quality apparel to great seasonal items with prices you don’t want to miss!

Many of our Fred’s stores also offer a pharmacy with skilled pharmacists ready to answer any prescription or medical question that you have. "

Welcome to Fred's

At the time the big draw was double coupons.

Fred's is similar to Dollar General in terms of their limited selection.

+

Things started to change, I guess, when corporate took a closer look at their shrinking profit margin.

They started offering less and less double coupons.

+

Do try to make it to their grand opening celebrations which are what I call cookie cutter (each one is identical).

There are decent door prize drawings and money saving coupons.

+

I do not know if Fred's still offers double coupons.

Their website allows you to view their current ad (jpg files, not pdf files):

Mine doubles up to 70 cents on Saturdays, Most have a limit on the amount of coupons. Depends on the manager/store I guess.
