DO you keep a Price Book??

Can you tell me more about your price book??
I have a few questions, some may seem silly but here goes.
I would like to start one and don't know where to start.I shope at several stores and try to keep track in my head when i can usually find a good deal on a particular item ,but its getting harder and harder lol.
Also do i enter in the price of a particular whenever its on sale,or do i just keep listing the price ,only when its lower than the lowest price in my book?

Any info or advice or instructions would be appreciated, thank you!!

I"m trying to set one up myself. I have set up an Excel spreadsheet that I print off and carry in my binder. So far I have the items size (if need be), the price and I usually put down the regular price. I have a column for each sgtore that I shop in. As I buy an item I add th eprince into the book and when I am at the other stores I look at the price and jot it down to be added in.

I 'cut out the middleman' by not keeping a price book.

Instead, I am able to keep prices in my noggin.

Also, when I checkout, I have an uncanny ability to know what the ballpark out-of-pocket will be, within a dollar or two.

I do this by rounding all items up to the nearest dollar.

If the total is not in my estimated range, I make sure that they did not overcharge me before leaving the store.

I have a price book, and I use excel. Somewhere online I found some people had posted to show how they do theirs, and I copied what I liked and modified it to suit me. I should update it now that I've moved, but it really is time consuming....
